Jake’s dad, Mickey Driver, was born and grew up in Smithville, Tennessee.  He attended the University of Tennessee in Knoxville where he earned a degree in journalism and mass communications and worked for several of Houston’s leading energy companies in public affairs and corporate communications.  He joined Gulf Oil Corporation in 1976 (which was later acquired by Chevron Corp) where he worked as a member of the public affairs team for 35 years.

His greatest achievement, however, was as Jake’s father.  “Jake taught me to open my heart bigger than I could have ever imagined,” he says.  “Through Jake, I learned the difference between what is important in life and what is not.  He taught me the true meaning of unconditional love.”
